The Alonzo is a bifold wallet made in Italian full grain milled Vachetta, the natural vegetable tanned leather of the Tuscan Leather District, lined in the same Italian full grain vegetable tanned milled leather.
The leather is Vachetta, vegetable tanned and left close to its natural state, then milled, worked gently until the grain rises into a soft and even pebble that is a pleasure in the hand. It goes on living once it is yours, warming and deepening with handling, drawing a patina no two wallets will ever share.
This piece is cut from Vachetta, a natural vegetable tanned leather from Tuscany. It is tanned slowly, with plant extracts in place of chemicals, in a tradition held for generations. Left close to its natural state, it deepens in tone and takes its patina with wear, so the leather becomes a quiet record of the years it is carried. Every Vachetta hide carries the guarantee of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, the mark that certifies genuine vegetable tanned leather made in Tuscany.
Inside are two cash compartments, six card slots and two hidden slots for the cards and notes kept out of sight, arranged so the wallet stays slim however much it carries. The whole is secured with RFID and NFC shielding, so the cards within cannot be read without your knowing.
The wallet is lined in the same Italian full grain vegetable tanned milled leather as its face, so it is honest through and through, with no lesser material hidden within, and the inside is as considered as the out.
The Alonzo is offered in two. Black is the most composed of colours, quiet and complete. Red is the bolder of the pair, a deep and considered red for the man who carries a little colour with confidence. Each is finished the same way, and each is the same wallet in a different mood.
