The Armando is a key holder made in Italian full grain Vachetta, the natural vegetable tanned leather of the Tuscan Leather District, lined in the same Italian full grain Vachetta in a cognac.
Vachetta is leather kept close to its natural state, vegetable tanned and left uncoated, so it lives and breathes and goes on changing once it is yours. On a piece handled as often as a key holder, it warms and deepens quickly, drawing a patina that no two will ever share.
This piece is cut from Vachetta, a natural vegetable tanned leather from Tuscany. It is tanned slowly, with plant extracts in place of chemicals, in a tradition held for generations. Left close to its natural state, it deepens in tone and takes its patina with wear, so the leather becomes a quiet record of the years it is carried. Every Vachetta hide carries the guarantee of the Consorzio Vera Pelle Italiana Conciata al Vegetale, the mark that certifies genuine vegetable tanned leather made in Tuscany.
The keys are held on imported metalware finished in brushed nickel and marked with the James Aston initials, so the house mark is with you each time you reach for the door. The leather is folded and stitched by hand, its edges finished and burnished, small work that is only harder to do well at this size.
