The James Aston Lifetime Warranty

James Aston pioneered the Lifetime Warranty in its category, and we hold to it without theatre. Every piece we make is guaranteed for the whole of its life against any defect in material or craftsmanship. A James Aston piece is made once and meant to be carried for a lifetime. This warranty exists so that it can be.

For as long as you carry your piece, we will service or restore it against any failure of our making. There is no expiry, and no registration is required. The piece itself is the warranty.

• The hardware of the piece, buckle, keeper, screw or fitting, serviced or replaced should it ever fail.
• Any stitching that wears with time, re-stitched by hand.
• The structural integrity of the piece, restored wherever our construction is at fault.

Our leather is vegetable tanned. It is made to age. Over the years it will darken, soften and take on a bloom and a patina that no two pieces will ever share. This is not wear, and it is never a fault. It is the leather becoming yours, and it is the whole intention behind everything we make. We will never treat the natural ageing of the leather as a defect, because it is the opposite of one.

We guarantee our making. We cannot guard against the world. Damage caused by accident, misuse or neglect, and leather harmed by those, sits outside this warranty. Personalised and made-to-order pieces, cut for a single owner, are not returnable, though they carry the same lifetime guarantee on their making.

Write to us at info@jamesaston.in, or speak with us, with a few words and a photograph of the piece. We will look at it ourselves, then repair, restore or replace it as the piece requires. Approved service and any refunds are handled by Namonamah Exim Private Limited, Kanpur.
