The Amadeo
Spanish Full Grain Leather. Tan. 35mm.
Lifetime Warranty · Hand finished in Kanpur
Every piece in this house carries a name, and the Amadeo carries the most demanding one of all. In the old Italian it means lover of God, a name for the devoted, and devotion is exactly what this belt asks of the hands that make it.
The strap is a single cut of Spanish full grain vegetable tanned leather, finished slightly raised, so a gentle crown runs the whole length of the belt and carries the light along it quietly, the way good leather should. The buckle is imported, in a brush nickel polish that sits calm against the grain. In tan, it is the lightest of the three, at ease with everything from grey flannel to weekend linen, and it takes its patina generously.
Vegetable tanning is the slow way. The hide takes its character from tree bark and time rather than haste, and it repays that patience for decades, softening, deepening, and gathering the quiet record of its wearer. The raised profile is finished by hand, edge by edge, and burnished until the crown runs true from tip to buckle.
The Amadeo has become one of the most asked-for belts of this house, and it earned that the honest way, one wearer at a time. Because devotion should be more than a word, every Amadeo carries the James Aston Lifetime Warranty on its making, without expiry.
The Amadeo is finished with a Spanish lining in a natural tone, the side that sits against the trouser, chosen to complement the full grain exterior and to wear in gently alongside it. The stitching is feather-edged, set close to the edge in a contrasting thread that traces the line of the belt and marks its boundary with precision. The buckle is precisely proportioned for the belt's width, in a brushed nickel finish, with the James Aston name engraved on the connecting bar, and the nickel Chicago screw at the keeper secures it cleanly. The billet tip is pointed, finished with the embossed JA mark within its stitched outline.
Amadeo means lover of God, a name for the man who measures himself against something higher than the room he is in. The belt is made in that quiet spirit, honest in its materials, considered in its making, certain of itself without ever needing to be seen. It belongs to the man who knows the difference.
We stand behind the making of every Amadeo for the whole of its life. Should the lining, the buckle, the keeper or the construction ever fail, we repair or restore it. The leather is vegetable tanned and is meant to age. It will deepen and soften into a patina that belongs to you alone. That is not wear. That is the point.

Know your waist size? The table gives your belt size directly.
Wear your trousers. Pass a tape through the belt loops. That measurement in inches is the size to order.
Take any belt you wear comfortably. It does not matter which hole you currently use.
Find the hole you buckle to every day. Whichever it is, that is your hole.
Measure from the buckle post to that hole. That number in inches is your size.

Why no addition is needed. You are measuring a belt worn with clothing, so that allowance is already in the number. Your James Aston belt arrives with the middle hole at your ordered size, two holes either side.
Service & Care
Complimentary shipping across India. Each piece is dispatched in James Aston packaging.
Should the size require adjustment, exchanges are accommodated within the stated period from delivery, with the belt unworn and in its original condition.
The James Aston Lifetime Warranty covers any defect in material or craftsmanship, unconditionally and without expiry. A belt made once, to be carried for a lifetime.
Keep your belt clean and well conditioned. Wipe it gently with a soft dry cloth to lift dust, and from time to time work in a little neutral leather conditioner to feed the leather and protect its surface. Keep it dry, store it with room to breathe, and away from prolonged damp and direct heat. Cared for in this way, the vegetable tanned leather deepens into a patina that becomes, over the years, unmistakably your own.
